He was predeceased by: his parents, John David and Ruth Ellen Turner Plott; and his siblings, John Edward Plott, James David Plott and Dorothy Helen Fortney (Daphne Plott).

He is survived by: his son John David Plott (Kristine); his grandson Cody Plott; his great grandchild Emma Plott; and his sisters, Darlene Haddix, Elizabeth Ellen McGinnis (Donald) and Brenda Vicars. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
