He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Lee and Betty June McCourt; and his sister Karen Knight. He is survived by: his children, Zachery McCourt of Morgantown and Ashley (Jamie Oldaker) of Fort Benning, GA.; his sister Constance (Beryl Riley); his brother-in-law Cecil Knight Jr.; his close friend LuAnn Woodyard; and his pet Cagney. He is also survived by Several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
