He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Starkey and Stella Starkey (Buckhannon). He is survived by: his granddaughter Jamie Leigh Starkey; his significant other Phyllis Starkey (Greenlief); his son Leon Carl Starkey (Walkersville); his granddaughters, Stacey Barton (Jason) of Pickerington, OH, Shana Boose (Beau) of Oak Island, NC and Shawna Cogar (Lucas Cottrell) of Wana, WV; his great grandchildren, Hunter Barton (Danae Pickens), Sydney Barton, Allanah Barton, Alton Cogar and Sawyer Cogar; his sister Candance Turner; and his daughters-in-law, Leslie Reedy of Valley Grove, WV, Christine Barr of Cross Lanes, WV and Reva Starkey of Flatwoods, WV.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other wonderful extended family.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital, Cleft Lip and Palate Center, 700 Children's Drive, Suite T5E, Columbus OH 43205.
