He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Wheeler and Clarence Wheeler; his brother Danny Hicks; and his uncle Dennis McCune. He is survived by: his granddaughter Carrie; his wife Devona Wheeler; his daughters, Sharon Wheeler and Carrie Bragg (Reuben); his granddaughters, Lyric Gates and Riley Bragg; and his siblings, Tammy Scott (Randy) and Ray Wheeler.
