With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Simmons of Glasgow, West Virginia, born in Powellton, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 14, 2024 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alan Simmons and Evelyn Brown Simmons of Deepwater. He is survived by: his wife Shelia Martin Simmons of Glasgow; his daughters, Lora Myers (Rick) of Elkview and Cindy Fleck (Jeff) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Sierra Myers of Uniontown, PA, Madison Fleck Cook (Corey) of Morgantown, Olivia Myers of Charleston and Jacob Fleck of Charleston; his great grandchild Evelyn Jean Cook; his siblings, Charles Simmons (Ethel) of Roanoke, VA, Bob Simmons (Wanda) of Cross Lanes, Michael Simmons (Linda) of San Antonio, TX and Kathy Holcomb (Bill) of Cedar Grove; and his caregiver Patricia Nelson of Charleston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the O'Dell Funeral Home (1301 Fayette Pike W, Montgomery, WV 25136). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the West Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or Kanawha Valley Senior Services in memory of Larry.
