He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd V. Totten and Anna M. Totten; his foster parents, George C. Marion and Madeline Marion; and his sister Charlotte Pickens of Sissonville.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila A. Totten; his children, Matthew S. Totten (Brandy) and Holly E. Totten; his grandchildren, Matthew Z. Totten (Paula), Cora M. Totten, Nathan H. Totten and Sada M. Totten; and his siblings, David A. Totten, James S. Botkin (Susan) and Myra L. Pauley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
