He was predeceased by: his wife Debra; his parents, Leonard Burgess and Lillian Burgess; and his siblings, Melvin "Buck", Leonard "Guy", Dixie Clevenger and Kathy Keyser.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie (Robby Palmer) of Mobile, Beverly of Bell Buckle and Blake (Siera); his grandchildren, Brooks, Myla and Hayes of Birmingham; his great grandchild Megan of Morgantown; his brother Richard "Dick" Burgess of McConnell; his mother-in-law Ann Conner; and his friend Martha Harless.
