He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Staley and Sadie Russell Clark; his wife Ida Marie Berry Staley; his siblings, Harold Staley and Doris Staley; and his parents-in-law, Laura and Willie Berry.
He is survived by: his children, Gail Marie Staley of Genoa, WV and Norman Douglas Staley of Genoa, WV; his brother Glen Staley (Patsy) of Lavalette, WV; his grandchildren, Ashley Maynard (Whitley), Jessica Thompson, Christine Ball (Andy), Tyler Marcum and Lakin Staley; his great grandchildren, Michael Maynard, Rayne Maynard, Daniel Ball and Emily Ball; his nieces and nephews, Tresa Davis, Laura Pierce, Jeremy Berry, Timmy Berry, Brad Berry, Ricky Chaney and Donnie Berry; and his sisters-in-law, Arbutus Berry and Mittie Ann Webb. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
