He is survived by: his mother Julious "Julie" Westfall of Heaters; his wife Sandy Compton Simons of Gassaway; his daughter Michelle Short (Sam) of Fairmont; his stepsons, Franklin Compton (Terri) of Gassaway, J. D and Joshua Whitesel (Alyssa) of Gassaway; his brothers, Eddie Simons of Heaters and Timothy "Tim" Simons (Treva) of Heaters; his grandsons, Logan and Lance Short; and his stepgrandchildren, Lexi Whitesel, Thomas Whitesel, Braydan Whitesel, Shellie Whitesel, Steven Whitesel, Natalya Whitesel and Kyler Compton.
