He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Ray and Elva Gay Chapman; and his siblings, Calvin Chapman, Robert "Jack" Chapman, Eugene "Gene" Chapman and Elsie Greene.
He is survived by: his wife Bessie; his daughter Sheila Powers (Bill); his granddaughters, Dawn Rae Smith (David) of Athens, WV and Allison Beall (Doug) of Normantown, WV; his great grandchildren, Kennedy Smith, Brody, Joel, Brooklyn and Baby Beall; and his sister Anna Blair Reed. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 protocols, his daughter, Sheila, was not permitted to stay with him.
