He was predeceased by: his parents, Kennis Matney and Lou Jane Ashby Matney; his wife Anna Mae Kennedy Matney; his daughter Tammy Matney; and his siblings, James, Tommy, Regina and Thurman.
He is survived by: his sons, Riley Matney Jr. (Shanan) of Lincolnton, NC and Dexter Matney (Michelle Blankenship); his siblings, Johnny, Bobby, Fred, Tony, Pricy, Nellie and Brenda; his grandchildren, Zachary Matney (Kaitlyn), DJ Matney (Raina), Justin Orgeron, Andrew Matney and Garrett Matney; and his great grandchildren, Lukus, Randon, Harper Rae, Henzley Kate, Wyatt Orgeron and Grace Orgeron.
