He was predeceased by: his parents, Isiah Clarkson and Roxie Terry Clarkson; his son Alvin Loyd Clarkson; his daughter-in-law Pamela Yates; his brother Leon Clarkson; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Clarkson and Vernon Blankenship.
He is survived by: his wife Talma Williams Clarkson; his son Calvin Clarkson of Montvale, VA; his granddaughter Scarlett (Tye Allen); his great grandchild Brayden Doss of Nashville, TN; his daughter Velleda (Ronald Dunbar); his granddaughter Velleda (Rob VerNooy); his great grandchildren, Maya VerNooy and Nate VerNooy; his siblings, Lucille (Fred Johnson), Nancy (Clark Blankenship), Katherine Blankenship of Gap Mills, WV and Orville (Wanda Clarkson); and his close friends, Quince Galford and Walter Beane. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home (715 Sweet Springs Valley Rd, Union, WV 24983). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
