He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Shoemaker and Audra Ratliff Shoemaker; his daughter Tina Spencer; his grandson Ronald Adams; his great grandchild Jalon Adams; and his siblings, Charles, Bill, Mike, Junior, Kenny Shoemaker and Helen Davis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lucia Adams (Doug Trippett) of Gallipolis Ferry, WV., Ruby Wears (Daryl) of Cheshire and Mariah Hammersley (Jacolby) of Hurricane, WV.; and his grandchildren, Amanda Adams, Patty Spencer, Brianna Spencer, Danielle Adkins, Nathan Spencer, Gage Stewart, Joshuah Lawson and Julian Hammersley.
