He was predeceased by: his father Charles D. Neal; his adoptive parents, Jim Stewart (Jennie B. Siders Stewart) and Jennie Stewart; and his brothers, Charles Dorsal Stewart and James M. Stewart, Jr..
He is survived by: his birth mother Jean Bates of Henderson; his daughter Amber Stewart Hill (Sarah) of Gallipolis Ferry; his grandchildren, Ashleigh Stewart, Jayden, Kendall and Sebastian Johnson; his great grandchildren, Macee and Malakai Stewart; his sisters, Jennie Stewart Jordan and Mary Stewart Poling; and his half-siblings, Danny Bates and Tammy Timcheck.
