He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Stamn Butcher and Fay Bradfield Butcher; and his sister-in-law Nancy Goodfellow. He is survived by: his wife Myra Metz Butcher of Friendly, WV; his siblings, Timothy Butcher (Teresa) of St. Mary's, WV, Betsy Collins (Phil) of Staunton, VA and Kitty Gorrell (Chuck) of Arvilla, WV; his siblings-in-law, Bill Metz (Debra) of Arvilla, WV, David Goodfellow of Pursley, WV and Mary Hamilton (Robert) of Erie, PA; and his mother-in-law Ruth Metz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private service for the family.
