He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Hamner and Almeda Helms Hamner; his wife Avis Allene Hamner; his close friend Judy Jackson; his sister Alma McCray; his grandson Jeffrey Hamner; his nephew Terry Bender; and his stepfather Henry Hamner.
He is survived by: his children, Almeda Hamner (Midge) of Elkins, Pam LeVasseur of Elkins, Steve (Angie Hamner) of Andersonville, TN and Max Hamner Jr. (Kelly) of Parrottsville, TN; his grandchildren, Steve Hamner (Jen) of Monaca, PA, Amanda Brown of Beaver Falls, PA, Jeana Reed of Aulander, NC and Leah Reinhart (Rich) of Freedom, PA; his stepchildren, Vern, Bob, Keith and Crystal Jackson; and his siblings, Alvilda Densmore, Sam Peck, Dorothy Rice (John), Delmas Hamner, Patty Gregory, Linda Fitzgerald (Kenny) and Ann. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
