It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Mae Carpenter of French Creek, West Virginia, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on February 26, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Selvia Lester Phipps, Sr. and Elizabeth Mae Phipps (Riffle); her son Carl; her siblings, Edgar and Louise; and her niece Darla Edgell.
She is survived by: her children, Bonnie Quick (Carpenter) of Hacker Valley and Ronnie Carpenter (Shirley) of Hacker Valley; her grandchildren, Tracy (Cliff Sponaugle) of Buckhannon, Eric Lewis of Buckhannon, Jasper Carpenter (Michelle) of Volga and Evan Carpenter of Buckhannon; and her siblings, Marian Harris of Buckhannon, Ruth (Roy Hissam) of Rock Cave, Selvia Lester Phipps, Jr. of Buckhannon and James Phipps of Buckhannon. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
