Dorothy Little Obituary
Dorothy "Dottie" Little, age 94, of French Creek, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023. She was born February 15, 1929, in New Jersey a daughter of the late LeRoy and Marion Holdridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ernest Little, her daughter Deborah Little and her son-in-law Darryl Vegh who recently passed.
Dottie will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by two sons: Douglas and wife Lynne and Scott and wife Flo; two daughters: Bonnie Voorhees and husband David and Linda Vegh. She will also be remembered by her many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
Dottie had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening well into her 90s. She never wore garden gloves because she liked to feel the dirt when she worked. She would spend many peaceful hours outside on her porch swing, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air. Her love for nature extended to her love for animals, especially her dogs. Lily and Teddy were her constant companions until she recently went into assisted living. Dottie fondly referred to them as her "kids," and the bond they shared was truly special.
After retirement, Dottie and her late husband, Ernest Little, moved to a farm in West Virginia, where they fell in love with their adopted state and the warm and welcoming people.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a local animal shelter, as Dottie had a great passion for helping animals in need.
