He was predeceased by: his mother Mabel Lucille Brooks Burns; his brother Leroy Thomas; his grandchild Angel Whitt; and his son-in-law Travis Cox. He is survived by: his wife Linda Highlander Burdette; his daughters, Betty Sue Burdette of Fort Spring, WV, Lee Ann Cox of Fort Spring, WV and Mona Burdette Whitt (James) of Fairlea, WV; his sister Bonnie Lovelace of Lewisburg, WV; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Bre Cox, Karalee and Gloria Whitt.
