He was predeceased by: his father Lyle Chester Vance Sr.; his wife Eileen Vance; his daughter Angela Pilger; and his siblings, Rose "Sissy" Marcum and Lyle "Bill" Vance Jr. (Gary).

He is survived by: his mother Rosie Leona Vance (White); his daughter Miranda Brown (Shane) of Follansbee, WV; his grandchildren, Isaiah Debnar and Regina Star Debnar; and his siblings, Brenda Kazee of Kingsport, TN, Stella "Bo" Monkman (Neil) of Cape Coral, FL, Patricia "Bang" Stuteville (Larry) of Kansas City, KS, Thelma "Fay" Toler of Charleston, WV and Christopher "Mike" Michael Vance of Charleston, WV. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
