He was predeceased by: his parents, John Saltis and Etta Mae Saltis (Costilow); and his siblings, Johnny Saltis, Andy Saltis, Pete Saltis, Mary Minear and Elizabeth "Tippy" Wilson Carr.
He is survived by: his brothers, George Saltis of Lorian, OH, Steve Saltis (Twyla) of Flemington, Joe Saltis (Lucy) of Flemington and Paul Saltis (Candy) of Knottsville; his sister-in-law Bernetta Saltis of Belington; and his niece Anna Murphy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
