He was predeceased by: his parents, Javis Garvin and Ona Garvin (Clutter); his siblings, Woodrow Garvin, Adren Garvin, Emma Parker (Garvin), Cleo Williams (Garvin) and Lorraine Lunceford (Garvin); and his son Charles Brewster.
He is survived by: his sisters, Louise Hines (Garvin) and Marjorie McCourt (Garvin); his brother-in-law James Lunceford; and his children, Janet Quick, Javis Brewster, Candy Leach, William Garvin, Andrea Ramona, Sophronia Liplin and Crystal Pequignot. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several step children.
