He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Franklin Gillam and Ella Marie Paine Gillam; his siblings, James E "Jimmy" Gillam and Francis Carroll; his wife Billie Racine Gillam; his nephews, Harold "Mike" Carroll and Darrell Carroll; his stepchildren, Charles Ingram and Winky Hall; and his stepgrandson Gary Dinky Dean Calvert II.
He is survived by: his son William "Willy" Gillam (Peggy) of Fayetteville, WV; his nephew Kenny Carroll of Oak Hill, WV; his stepchildren, Rhonda Miller of Oak Hill, WV, Beulah Elmore of Fayetteville, WV and James Ingram; and his stepgrandchildren, Charles Calvert of Oak Hill, WV, Denny Calvert (Robin) of Oak Hill, WV, Shannon Ingram of Oak Hill, WV, Rodney Nutter of Oak Hill, WV, Tony Elmore of Beckley, WV and Tonya Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the local VA Memorial Fund.
