He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Grover and Pearlie Mae Pendelton Hylton; his siblings, Darrell Hylton of Black Eagle and Sylvia Hylton of Black Eagle; and his son Jack of Winfield.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Darlene Young Hylton; his children, Tina Michelle Miller, Joseph Ellis Hylton, Jr. (Rhonda) of Fayetteville and Terry Dewayne Hylton (Mindy) of Fayetteville; and his sisters, Shirley Fann of Black Eagle, Louise Smith of Oceana and Dorothy Graham of Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild.
