She was predeceased by: her parents, Eula Martin and Madeline Martin; her husband Rufus Dempsey; and her brother Charles Martin. She is survived by: her sister Peaches Martin; her sons, Wayne Justice (Brenda), Brian Dempsey (Trish) and Mark Dempsey (Glenna); and her grandchildren, Brittany Dempsey and Bradley Dempsey (Kimberly).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.
