He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Howard and Edna Grace Crowl Gross; his wife Betty Gene Thompson Gross; his siblings, Joseph, Robert, James Gross and Betty Jane Jones; and his sons-in-law, Vincent Brancato, John Dignan and Mike Hudnall.
He is survived by: his children, Melanie Dignan of Fairmont, Brenda Hudnall of Fairmont, Rachel Merrifield (Gary) of Fairmont, Jamie Gross of Fairmont and Amy Rogers (Kevin) of Fairmont; his sister Catherine Jeanne Sarver of Vero Beach, FL; and his sister-in-law Martha Gross of Fairmont. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
