He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Neptune and Julia Neptune (Colorusso); his wife Paula Neptune (Maruka) of Fairmont; his sons, Christopher Ryan and Jonross Neptune (Lisa); his granddaughters, Madeline Violet and Scarlett Ann; his sister Georgeanne Neptune; his sisters-in-law, Susan, Renee, Karen, Lynn, Joyce and Carol; his niece Megan Clare Stephenson; his nephew Eric Michael Dalton; and his parents-in-law, Ross and Dolores Maruka (Rote). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russ's memory to the Maruka Family Scholarship in memory of Ross & Dolores Maruka and Megan Stephenson, Fairmont Senior High School Foundation Scholarship, c/o FSHS Foundation PO Box 91, Fairmont, WV 26555.
