It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta Courtney of Fairmont, West Virginia, born in Petersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on February 24, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce E. Hyre and Twila Rinehart Hyre; her son Jeremy Courtney; and her niece Lauren Hyre Rodgers. She is survived by: her children, Lisa Kukla (Chris) of Durham, NC, Nate Courtney (Carla) of Morgantown and Sean Courtney of Mineral Wells, WV; her sister Janie Fleming (Greg) of Oak Island, NC; her nephews, Jason and Justin; her brother Bruce "Icky" Hyre Jr. (Mary Cay); her grandchildren, Levi, Abbie, Hayden, Carter and Simon; and her friend Ron Klink of Greensboro, PA.
The family requests that donations be made in Jean's name to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
