He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Ashby and Geneva Smith Ashby; his wife Patricia Ashby; and his grandson Justin Cassella. He is survived by: his children, Donna Cassella (Sam Cassella Jr.) of Fairmont and David Ashby (John Jacobs) of Fairmont; his stepdaughter Gina Montroso of Huntington; his grandchildren, Trevor, Sophia and Jacob; his great grandchild Elizabeth; and his sisters, Louise, Betty (Ronnie) and Freda (Jim). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
