He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Leon Woodson and Cornelia E. Harris Woodson; his wife Pamela Boyd-Woodson; his son Tyrone K. Woodson; and his grandson Eric R. Woodson II.

He is survived by: his sons, Eric R. Woodson of Fairmont, David E. Woodson, Jacob P. Woodson, Johnathan T. Woodson and Micah C. Woodson; his grandchildren, Aanalyca M. Woodson, Karina N. Woodson and Elijah Woodson; and his goddaughter Natosha Hickman.
