He was predeceased by: his brother Daniel Helmick (Kenny Matheny); and his sister-in-law Mary Helmick (Mickie). He is survived by: his sisters, Mary McFarland of Whitehall and Barbara Matheny of Whitehall; his nephews, James Helmick and Patrick McFarland (Patricia); and his great-nephews, Brenden and Aden McFarland.

Donations may be made to Fairmont Catholic School, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Marion County Humane Society.
