He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sylvia, Marvin McNeely, Bessie and Johnny Ashcraft; his stepgrandfather Eugene Sampson; and his brother Michael Pierson.
He is survived by: his parents, Sue Sampson and Ronald Person; his sister Jillian Sampson of Fairmont; his aunts and uncles, Herb McNeely (Sheila) of Williamsburg, Arlene Ukeiley, Jeanette McNeely of Pahrump, Eugene Sampson Jr. (Donna) of Fairmont and Steven Moore (April) of Rivesville; and also Sue Rowley.
