We are sad to announce that on May 7, 2021, at the age of 92, Betty L. Wamsley Guy of Fairmont, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, G. W. Wamsley and Beulah Lloyd Lower; her brothers, Emerson (Norma Wamsley) and Doyle Ray Lower; her aunt Minnie; her uncle Fay Snyder; her stepfather Burley Lower; her parents-in-law, Bess and Harry Guy Sr.; her sister-in-law Genevieve Guy (James F. Herlihy Sr.); and her nephews, James F. Herlihy Jr. and Donald "Butch" Furbee.

She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah K. Guy of Arlington, VA and Jennifer (Sam Snyder); her granddaughters, Jenna Snyder of Flemington, WV and Leiren (Andrew Wentz) of Flemington, WV; her great grandchildren, Landon Butcher, Reagan Harper Wentz, Haedyn Jade Futton and Kenslie Grace Futton; her siblings, Leah Jean (James Gorman) of Shinnston, WV and Robert (Jane Lower) of Huttonsville, WV; her niece Mary Beth Furbee; her great-niece Jill (Jimmy Miller); her great-nephews, James E. (Tammy Herlihy), Gary Wamsley and Joe Wamsley; her cousin Willetta S. Barker; and also, Christian and Alana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gateway United Methodist Church, 301 Diamond Street, Fairmont, WV 26554.

My mom, Dixie Swiger, (passed March 20, 2018 @ 86yo) and I loved how classy you and your mom are, Jenny. It’s so hard to lose a parent. I pray for you and your family to find comfort knowing you and she are always in our hearts.”
