He was predeceased by: his father Leonadus Chaney Jr. "Sunny"; his children, Shantae Cottingham, Anturyne Chaney Jr. and John Cottingham; his sister Sharon "Weba"; his grandparents, Leonadus, Viola Chaney, Grace and Cecil Simms of Fairmont, W. V.; and his mother Mary Chaney of Fairmont.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Chaney. He is also survived by Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
