He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Franklin Griffith and Ora Etta Watson Griffith; his siblings, Geneva Hines, Maxine Miller, Evelyn "Sissy" Nelson, Charles Griffith, Lester "Shorty" Griffith, Romie Griffith and Roger Griffith; his siblings-in-law, Nancy Ellen Griffith, Nancy Lou Isner Griffith, Joseph Hines and Mark Nelson; his nephew Mark Griffith; his half-brother Jimmy Bennett; and his friend David Varner.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Jean Belan; his son Craig; his daughter-in-law Kelly Griffith of Charleston; his daughter Kara; his son-in-law Jeff Casto of Ripley; his grandchildren, Elijah, Cyrus, Mya, Ava Casto of Ripley, Julia and Sydney Griffith of Charleston; his siblings-in-law, John Belan (Corina), Carris Griffith of Elkins, Jerry Miller of Jimtown, WV and Dorothy Bennett; and his grandsons, West, Fritz Williams and Larry Bird. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews cousins and many friends.
