He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve D. Deak and Mary Jane Lakatos Deak; his sister Mary Jane Posey; and his brothers-in-law, Loy Posey and Robert Weimer.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Ann Martin Deak; his son David Steve Deak II of Ellenboro; his grandson Damien Deak; his siblings, Julia Weimer and Steve Deak; his nephew Rick Posey (Laurel); his niece Kim Manning (Jeff); and his close friends, Gracie, Cali, Jax and Otis.
