It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard McVey of Elkview, West Virginia, born in Edmond, West Virginia, who passed away on October 13, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. McVey and Nettie G. Sandige McVey; his former wife Agnes M. McVey; his siblings, Eugene, Everett, John Edward, Garland and Martha Jones; and his children-in-law, Danny Fisher and Lana McVey.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Fisher of Bowie, George (Elaine) of Berkeley Springs and Greg of Saint Albans; his grandchildren, Brian McVey (Karen) of Nashville, Alan Fisher (Miriam) of Charlton Heights, Ann Marie Jenkins (David) of Proctorville, Sandy Carrico (Lou) of Winston-Salem, Janet Johnson (Jason) of Bowie, Alex McVey (Haley) of Nashville and Annie McVey of Saint Albans; his niece Helen Sullivan of Ashland, Ohio.; and his wife Carolyn. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Richard enjoyed a long life and passed on October 13, 2020, as a result of complications from dementia and COVID-19.
