He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Renvell L. Mitchell and Ruby Abbott Mitchell; his daughters, Sarah Mitchell of Elkview and Laura Mitchell of Barboursville; and his sister Beth Guthrie (Dickie) of Sissonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pinch Volunteer Fire Department.
