It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joshua Benjamin Shafer (Elkview, West Virginia), born in Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on May 7, 2021, at the age of 35, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Tina Carol Shafer; his grandfather Esper Shafer; his great-grandparents, Edna and Orville Strickland; and his cousin John Michael Lersch.
He is survived by: his daughter Aleigha Shafer Hicks; his siblings, Joseph Ray (Cassandra) of Elkview and Hannah Ray; his grandparents, Forrest and Carol Holley; his nephew Michael David Ray; his aunts and uncles, Cheryl Shafer, Todd Shafer, Jerri Trent, Ron Shafer (Summer) and Sam Hicks (Jim); and his cousins, Aaron Shafer, CJ Gore, Jameson Shafer, Matthew Shafer and Nicholas Hicks. He is also survived by his grandfather said no more pets.
