He was predeceased by: his parents, Elliott Strickland and Anne Pearl Taylor Strickland; and his siblings, Kermit Jr, Elliott, Jr., Freda King, Virginia Slater, Bonnie Gibson and Tressie Strickland.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Strickland of Charleston, Jerry Strickland and Terry Drake Grech of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
