He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard D. Smith and Opal Smith; and his brothers, Howard Junior, Paul Edward, Allen Lynn, Wesley "Bije" and Benjamin Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Nadine; his children, Michael Shawn (Sandy) and Kimberly Dawn Legg (Michael); and his grandchildren, Sommer Casto (Caleb), Savannah Firebaugh (Brandon), Kaitlyn Legg, Sydney Smith, Justin Legg and Gavin Legg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
