James L. Chapman Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James L. Chapman of Elkview, West Virginia, who passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Addie V. Elswick and Jacob L. Chapman; his siblings, Nora May Scheper and John A. Chapman; his son-in-law Shawn T. McVay; and his grandson Nathan D. Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia L. Chapman of Elkview; his daughters, Barbara Taylor (Al) of Conway, SC and Beth Smith of Pinch; his sister Becky Paxton (Gary); his grandchildren, Kristen Strickland (Joey), Tom McVay (Sarah), Jo Turner, Jacob Turner, Alfred Taylor and Grace Smith; and his great grandchildren, Allison, Amy, Shawn Strickland, Faolan, Fiona McVay and Callum Turner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children's Home Society of West Virginia or Kanawha Hospice.
