He was predeceased by: his parents, Uhl Smith and Opal Smith; and his siblings, Arbutus "Boots" Taylor, Betty Parson, Geraldean Taylor, Mary Pauley, Martha Vanneter, Linda Hoover, Larry Smith, Dorsel Smith, Gene Smith and Austen Lee Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Smith; his children, Ed Smith (Connie), David Smith (Luwana), Melissa Huffman (Tim) and Andrea Jarrett; and his siblings, Jack Smith, Elizabeth Issel and Janice Vaughan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
