She was predeceased by: her husband Jim Nelson; and her mother Evelyn Burchett. She is survived by: her children, Jim Nelson Jr. of Pinch and Jeanie Naylor II (Howard); and her grandchildren, Patricia Darnell (Tim) of North Carolina, Howard Naylor III (Crystal) of Elkview, Caroline Darnell, Charlie Darnell and Brooklyn Naylor.
