He was predeceased by: his parents, Claudie B. Payne and Helen Cathrine Rollins Payne. He is survived by: his wife Sandra K. Cox Payne; his children, Matthew J. Payne (Megan) and Megan D. Payne; his grandchildren, Shaela Kole Payne, Zavian Isaak Stanfield and Tarek Toure; and his siblings, Shirley T. Pittman, Sundra K. Payne (Joyce Lilly) and Richard Payne (Darlene). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
