He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Rucker and Mattie Rucker; and his siblings, Paul Rucker, Henry Rucker, JoAnn Newhouse, Norma Taylor and June Proffitt.

He is survived by: his wife Drema Rucker; his son Charles "CJ" Rucker (Amanda) of Tennesee; his siblings, Dale Rucker of Big Chimney, Stanley Rucker of Clendenin, Emma Taylor of Charleston, Ruth Bowles of Charleston and Phyllis Clay; his grandchildren, Morgan, Madison and Keegan; and his nephew Timothy Cadle (Rita).
