We are sad to announce that on October 19, 2023, at the age of 95, Ronald David Schoonover (Elkins, West Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Danny Hamrick; his siblings, Robert, Samuel, Ernest "Pete", Martha McKinney and Betty Arbuthnot; his siblings-in-law, Jerome Arbuthnot, Grant Arbuthnot, Charles Chenoweth, Maurice Chaput, Robert McKinney, Edgar Evans and Betty Schoonover; his niece Andrea McKinney; and his nephew Jason Chenoweth.

He is survived by: his spouse Belvia Bernice Bennett; his children, Ron Schoonover II (Karen), Kathy Hamrick and Pam Schoonover (Rick Howard); his grandchildren, Cierra Hart (Andrew Nichols), Adam Hart (Keyla), Ainslee Wead (Alex), Heidi Bray (C. J.), Ron Schoonover III (Kristen) and Levi Nichols; his sisters, Ilene Hedrick (Roy), Ailene Chenoweth, Dortha Jean Hensil, Reta Chaput and Mary Ann Evans; and his sister-in-law Anita Schoonover. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to WV Caring, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520 or ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Buster.
