She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Phares and Lillian Phares (Kittle); her brother Duane Phares; and her stepgrandson William White. She is survived by: her children, Martin Mullennex of Nashville, TN, Robert Mullennex Elkins (Janet), Jeff Mullennex (Tina) of Beverly, WV and LuAnn Creager (Ramon); her sisters, Nina Thomas and Barbara Nicholson; her grandchildren, Josh Mullennex, Candice Beals, Brian Mullennex, Logan Mullennex, Ryan Mullennex, Linsee Mullennex, Clinton Higgins and Marilyn Creager; and her stepgrandson Kevin White.
