It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Alice Howell of Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank C. Louk and Lucy Pudder Louk; her husband Alvin E. Howell; her foster son Mark Allen Crites; her son-in-law Eugene Riffe; and her siblings, Junior, Kenneth Louk, Neva Swecker, Vada Johnson, Laura Nelson and Roxie Lodge.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Alvin Howell of Elkins, Mary H. Fox of Morgantown and Bonnie Riffe of Elkins; her foster son David Wayne Jackson (Alma); her siblings, Blair Louk (Patty) of Dailey, Ina Gear of Elkins and Shirley Riegal of Maryland; and her grandchildren, Joseph Fox, Logan Fox, Kimberly Hamrick (Allan), Mary Alice Posey and Marsha Ann Lester. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.
