She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Vanscoy and Winnie Sell Vanscoy; her husband Stanley V. Phares; and her sister Maxine Vanscoy Morrison. She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Carolyn Canfield (Ward), Lois Arbogast (Harold), Floyd Morrison (Jean) and Kenneth Morrison.
